As part of the <\/span>Eurasian Community for Access to Treatment (ECAT) meeting, held in <\/span>Istanbul from May 22\u201324, representatives from international organizations <\/span>M\u00e9decins Sans Fronti\u00e8res (MSF) and Treatment Action Group (TAG) presented global campaigns aimed at expanding access to <\/span>tuberculosis (TB) treatment and diagnostics.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Christophe Perrin<\/span>, a TB advocacy pharmacist at MSF<\/span>, provided an in-depth overview of the \u201cTime for $5!\u201d<\/span> campaign, which advocates for reducing the cost of TB diagnostic tests to $5 USD<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Erin McConnell, <\/span>Senior TB Project Associate at TAG, discussed the <\/span>1\/4\/6×24 Campaign, which focuses on integrating <\/span>shorter, effective, and affordable TB treatment regimens\u2014one, four, or six months\u2014into national programs by the end of 2024. Erin also provided a detailed overview of the <\/span>SMART4TB project.<\/span><\/p>\n
