The community was created by International Treatment Preparedness Coalition in Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ITPC EECA) in 2016.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ECAT\u2019s mission: <\/strong><em>we work for timely and comprehensive access to up-to-date diagnostics and treatment of HIV, hepatitis and tuberculosis.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Our main goal <\/strong>is increasing of patients\u2019 community expertise in access to diagnostics and treatment issues for effective work to change the situation for better in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ECAT<\/strong><strong>\u2019s objectives<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Providing technical support to patients\u2019 organizations for their work aimed to access to diagnostics and treatment improvement<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring dialog between patients\u2019 organizations, access to treatment experts, representatives of pharmaceutical companies, international agencies and state authorities to discuss key issues related to access to treatment and diagnostics.<\/li>\n<li>Organizing educational events for EECA patients\u2019 communities representatives<\/li>\n<li>Collecting and sharing information related to diagnostics and treatment accessibility in EECA<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Main directions of our work:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Introduction of innovative drugs in EECA: treatment standards and guidelines, restrictive lists, registration and pricing issues.<\/li>\n<li>Price decreasing to the level which allows expanding access to diagnostics and treatment in conditions of patent monopoly: procurement mechanisms, comparative analysis of prices in different countries etc.<\/li>\n<li>Balance maintaining between defensing of public health interests and intellectual property rights: using mechanisms aimed to patent barriers overcoming (voluntary licensing, patent oppositions, compulsory licensing, and optimization of IP legislation).<\/li>\n<li>Accessibility, affordability and quality of generics: compliance with GMP standards, WHO prequalification, pharmacovigilance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>We work for<\/strong>: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Ukraine.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/eeca-cat.info\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/16198"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/eeca-cat.info\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/eeca-cat.info\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/eeca-cat.info\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/eeca-cat.info\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=16198"}],"version-history":[{"count":8,"href":"https:\/\/eeca-cat.info\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/16198\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":18370,"href":"https:\/\/eeca-cat.info\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/16198\/revisions\/18370"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/eeca-cat.info\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=16198"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
