ECAT Meeting on Expanding Access to HIV, Viral Hepatitis, and TB Treatment and Diagnosis in the EECA Region

Today, in Tbilisi, the Eurasian Community for Access to Treatment (ECAT) convened a meeting focused on expanding access to treatment and diagnosis of HIV, viral hepatitis, and tuberculosis (TB).

The event was organized by ITPC EECA with the support of ITPC Global, the Health Advocacy Coalition (HAC), 100% Life, and the Alliance for Public Health (within the SoS_project 2.0 and Gilead).

The meeting brings together representatives of NGOs and civil society from Armenia, Moldova, Georgia, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Uzbekistan. Additionally, representatives from WHO and Médecins du Monde (Doctors of the World) are participating.

Participants will engage with pharmaceutical companies Gilead and ViiV Healthcare to discuss the production and registration of long-acting treatments, their availability in the EECA region, and pricing policies.

Meetings with the Medicines Patent Pool and WHO are also scheduled as part of the event.
